“Where the Blue of the Night Meets the Gold of the Day”

About 1m square. Made for a challenge—to use the blue fabric, basing the design on a song title which included ‘Blue’.

2002.

“Turkish Delight” — A miniature 11”x16” with almost 300 pieces! Made for the Malvern Show 2003. The odd shapes are those of the glass pieces in the

original door.

If you look very hard you can see the doorknob, on the right hand side inner border.

“Free Spirit”

Exactly 1m square! Made for a challenge for the first Festival of Quilts, 2003. Design theme was ‘Free Spirit’ and we had to use 25% Free Spirit, Color Flash fabric.

The eagle was completed separately, with its own batting and quilting, and appliquéd to the landscape.

“Technicolour Snowflake”

Winner of  a ‘Judges merit award’ rosette at the 2004 Malvern Quilt UK show.

Based on a ‘Von Koch Snowflake’

fractal pattern, but with elaborate pseudo-floral piecing in the largest triangle.

Took 10 months to do, finished with 12 hours and 10 minutes to spare (8 of which were sleeping time).
